Azco expands copper inventory and reserve to 2.6 billion pounds.VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 1995--AZCO Mining Inc. announces results from drilling an additional 147 holes during 1994 at its Piedras Verdes project located 10 miles north of Alamos The name Álamos can refer to the following:
Based on a 0.20% copper cutoff grade, the Piedras Verdes copper inventory is 1.28 billion pounds contained in 154 million short tons grading 0.41% copper. This represents an increase of 55% to the inventory announced in July 1993. Based on a 0.30% cutoff grade, the copper inventory is 1.01 billion pounds contained in 100 million tons grading 0.50% copper. These inventories are amenable to low-cost processing by solvent extraction-electrowinning (SX-EW) and do not include primary sulfide copper mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. . The inventory estimates are based on 88,500 feet of reverse circulation drilling in 242 holes completed by AZCO AZCO A-Z Computer Liquidators (Anaheim Hills, CA) during 1992 through 1994. The holes were drilled on lines spaced 100 meters apart with the average distance between holes on the lines being about 60 meters. The drill holes and mineralized min·er·al·ize v. min·er·al·ized, min·er·al·iz·ing, min·er·al·iz·es v.tr. 1. To convert to a mineral substance; petrify. 2. Another mineralized zone located south of the main zone is also a target for further expansion to the copper inventory. Favorable results from 20 column leach tests indicate that at a minus 1-inch crush size, 85% of the oxide and supergene su·per·gene n. These tests show that at a minus 2-inch crush size, greater than 80% of the copper is recovered in 240 days of leaching. The net acid consumption is expected to be less than 4 pounds of acid per pound of cathode copper. The Piedras Verdes deposit has an indicated waste to ore ratio of approximately 1.3:1. The first 13 million tons of ore production has a waste to ore ratio of less than 1:1 and an average grade of 0.55% copper. The deposit is also located in an accessible area with readily available power, water, labor and acid. The Company anticipates that the project will produce 100 million pounds of cathode copper per year for 10+ years at a direct operating cost of less than $0.50 per pound. AZCO's Sanchez SX-EW project, located near Safford, Arizona Safford is a city in Graham County, Arizona, United States. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 8,932.[1] The city is the county seat of Graham CountyGR6. , has a mineable ore reserve of 1.34 billion pounds of copper and is expected to produce 56 million pounds of cathode copper per year for 20 years at an average direct operating cost of $0.52 per pound. The Sanchez project has all environmental permits in place and is ready for construction. The Company estimates that copper production could commence 15 months following the commitment of funds. The Company now has a total inventory and reserve in excess of 2.6 billion pounds of copper on its Piedras Verdes and Sanchez projects.
