Ayres Advertising/Marketing of Lincoln, Neb., and Kahler & Company of Omaha, Neb., merged on July 1, 2002. In line with the merger, Ayres-Kahler announced a new nautical-themed logo to complement its company mission and strategy, Brand Navigation. Bearing a strong resemblance to the graphic systems of the semaphore (1) A hardware or software flag used to indicate the status of some activity.
(2) A shared space for interprocess communications (IPC) controlled by "wake up" and "sleep" commands.
