Aymar named CEA ITER advisor.


Robert Aymar has been named Special Advisor for ITER to the Administrator-General of the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Aymar was head of the ITER team from 1994-2003 and Director-General of the CERN high-energy accelerator lab in Geneva 2003-2008. He also was responsible for the design and construction of Tore Supra, the French superconducting tokamak, dating back to 1977. He was a recipient of Fusion Power Associates 2000 Leadership Award and 2003 Distinguished Career Award and served on the Fusion Power Associates Board of Directors.
