Aylus Networks Extends Suite of Multimedia Sharing Products with MediaCast.

First in Class Mobile Technology Product for Real-Time Audio and Video Communications for Mobile Operators

WESTFORD, Mass. -- Aylus Networks, Inc., the innovative provider of real-time multimedia sharing solutions for mobile networks, today announced the release of MediaCast, a technology platform and service that enables live video, audio and files to stream simultaneously from mobile phones to web, mobile and social networks. MediaCast is the only purpose-built and standards based video sharing service in its class for mobile operators. The MediaCast platform is capable of handling millions of simultaneous users with telco-grade reliability.

"As consumers and businesses begin sharing video in greater numbers to stay connected and be more efficient, mobile operators can now offer these rich communications experiences to their subscribers using the advanced data capabilities of their networks," commented Aashu Virmani, Head of Marketing for Aylus Networks. "MediaCast was developed to allow mobile operators to provide unique multimedia sharing services more efficiently than other products in the market, and at the same time, create new revenue opportunities."

MediaCast, which is currently in trials with tier-one mobile operators, allows for richer, more engaging communications between friends, family and co-workers, leading to higher ARPU for mobile operators and a differentiated mobile experience for their subscribers. Web-portal applications for the multimedia product are being developed for use by both Aylus' partners and customers for industry verticals such as the news and broadcast industry, field services, and the public safety sector. Within these verticals, the MediaCast technology enables immediate situation assessment and reaction by enabling a multimedia interaction to enrich the communication. MediaCast builds on the Aylus promise to enable multimedia interactivity.

Some of the innovative features and benefits of MediaCast include:

* One click video streaming from the mobile phone to the web, social networks, and other mobile devices

* Pre-integrated web portals that permit turn-key offerings for a variety of industry verticals

* Bandwidth efficiency within the network providing OpEx expense savings for the mobile operator

* Smallest possible latency that stays constant regardless of the duration of the video stream

* Simultaneous voice call addition to have a more engaging experience between the person streaming live video and the person consuming it

MediaCast uses protocols and architectures that are a part of the Rich Communication Services (RCS) initiative by GSMA , which represents over 45 Operators and Vendors. As RCS evolves and defines newer services, Mediacast is slated to become an exemplary RCS compliant service. Networks such as EDGE/WCDMA/HSDPA, EV-DO/Rev A, and WiFi/WiMAX are all addressed by Aylus' high-quality, reliable and flexible infrastructure in both Pre-IMS and IMS architectures.
