Axya Medical Announces New Bio-Absorbable Bone Anchor System for Arthroscopic Use.


BEVERLY, Mass. -- Axya Medical Inc., a privately held medical device company, announced today that it has received 510 (k) clearance for its Axya Bio-Absorbable Bone Anchor System for arthroscopic use, and that it is currently available for sales in the U.S. Market. The patented product, with its non-metallic, non-reflective radiolucent radiolucent /ra·dio·lu·cent/ (ra?de-o-loo´sent) permitting the passage of radiant energy, such as x-rays, with little attenuation, the representative areas appearing dark on the exposed film.  material is manufactured from Bio-Absorbable Poly (L-lactide).
