Axya Medical Announces Appointment of D. Ronald Yagoda to Board of Directors.

BEVERLY, Mass. -- Axya Medical Inc., a privately held medical device company, is pleased to announce that D. Ronald Yagoda has been elected to the company's board of directors. Mr. Yagoda has extensive experience in the investment banking and medical device industries.

In 1994 he founded Orthopaedic Biosystems Ltd, Inc. (OBL), offering procedure specific solutions to Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, which became a leader in re-attachment of tissue to bone technology. By 2000 the company had experienced a 75% compound growth rate, and was sold to Smith & Nephew Endoscopy for $25 million.

From 2002 to 2004 Mr. Yagoda served as Executive Director for OsteoBiologics, Inc., a biomaterials research company specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopy. By refocusing the business plan he enabled the company to commercialize their technology in late 2003. He currently serves as a consultant to the Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Yagoda is also Founder and Managing Member of DryAz Consulting, LLC, which specializes in strategic planning, merger and acquisitions, and helps companies deal with the financial community.

Axya has developed and continues to advance its innovative method of utilizing ultrasonic energy to weld polymeric materials used in surgical procedures. Its initial products were designed to ultrasonically weld suture thereby eliminating knot tying by the surgeon. The instrumentation has been developed in collaboration with a number of surgeons representing several surgical specialties. This collaboration led to the conclusion that the elimination of knot tying through suture welding is a cost-effective alternative to what can be a time consuming, tedious task.

Recently, Axya has released considerable innovation in its proprietary technology, furthering surgeon's technique advancements and ease of use in arthroscopy.
