Axway Subsidiary Licenses Email Firewall Patents to Mirapoint Software, Inc.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Mirapoint Software, Inc. a leading provider of appliance-based email solutions and Tumbleweed Communications Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Axway Inc, today announced a new licensing agreement for two Tumbleweed technology patents. The agreement will enable Mirapoint to leverage Tumbleweed's proprietary Encryption and Decryption technology patents to provide enhanced email communications to its customers world-wide.

Now a part of Axway, Tumbleweed is an industry leader in managed file transfer, email security, and identity validation with more than 31 security patents in the U.S alone. The license agreement with Mirapoint covers Tumbleweed U.S. Patent No. 6,393,568 titled "Encryption and Decryption Method with Content Analysis Provision" and U.S. Patent No. 6,609,196 titled "Email Firewall with Stored Key Encryption/Decryption."

Earlier this month, the Axway-Tumbleweed merger was finalized and Tumbleweed's operations are in the process of integration with Axway's.

Terms of the license agreement with Mirapoint were not disclosed.
