Axolotl Announces Web-Based Ordering; Elysium Automates the Ordering Process for Hospitals, Reference Labs and Other Suppliers.

Axolotl Corp., the leader in Clinical Messaging software today announced the immediate availability of web-based ordering through the Elysium Intelligent Ordering product.

The web-based ordering capability was developed from the company's Elysium Workstation client software rolled out at customer sites earlier in the year and used by physicians and staff to order lab tests.

A component of Axolotl's Elysium product suite, Elysium Intelligent Ordering provides comprehensive web-based software allowing healthcare suppliers to create on-line catalogs of their products and services (e.g. lab tests or medical equipment supplies). Physicians and their staffs use "smart" forms linked to these ordering catalogs to electronically submit orders which automatically include patient demographic and insurance data ensuring that the supplier has all of the necessary information to process the order, deliver the results or supplies, and bill the appropriate organization.

For ordering lab tests, the product incorporates medical necessity rules, ICD and CPT coding checks, automatic Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) generation, specimen labeling and alerts. Physicians and their staffs order via the Internet (or an intranet) and get the results back the same way, through a standard browser.
