AxisNT introduces triple mode power amplifier module and IP linearisation solution.Worldwide Computer Products News-17 February 2009-AxisNT introduces triple mode power amplifier module and IP linearisation solution(C)1995-2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD LTD 1 Laron-type dwarfism 2 Leukotriene D 3 Long-term depression, see there 4. Long-term disability http://www.m2.com Axis Network Technology (AxisNT), a supplier of radio remote heads, software defined radios and high efficiency power amplifiers, has introduced a triple mode power amplifier module and IP linearisation solution, offering a 45% final stage efficiency for UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) The GSM implementation of the 3G wireless phone system. Part of IMT-2000, UMTS provides service in the 2 GHz band and offers global roaming and personalized features. ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute, Sophia Antipolis technical park, Nice, France, www.etsi.org) A non-profit membership organization founded in 1988, dedicated to standardizing information and communication technologies (ICT) throughout Europe. compliant 64QAM systems at 2.1GHz. According to the company, the solution uses a power amplifier module and IP block resident in the transmitter chain FPGA, which means the customer implementation is simple and cost effective. As well as UMTS, the solution operates with CDMA and OFDM (DVB, WiMAX and LTE) air interfaces. It supports up to 30MHz of signal bandwidth and single and multicarrier signals for all modes. The AxisNT PowerDPD linearisation IP solution is available as an embedded net list for use in Altera or Xilinx FPGAs. It combines a Crest Factor Reduction (CFR CFR See: Cost and Freight ) block and Digital Predistortion (DPD) block to increase the efficiency of the amplifier module, at the same time ensuring compliance to ETSI and FCC requirements. The IP also provides carrier and image suppression when used with direct modulation schemes. The PowerDPD solution offers the following features: reduces the peak-to-average ratio (PAR) for single-carrier and multi-carrier signals; improves adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) without the need for separate chipset or DSP; enables 45% efficiency using Axis Power Amplifiers; reduces cost for multi-channel MIMO systems; supports single and multicarrier environments; can be used in burst mode systems such as TDD-LTE and TD-SCDMA, the company said.
