With this round, the company now has secured more than $8 million in funding, which will be used to support the company's continued expansion into global markets.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), more than $10.3 billion was spent on procedures in 2008. Overall, there were more than 12 million plastic and cosmetic procedures performed in the United States in 2008 - of which nearly 500,000 were breast-related - and the ASPS is predicting the total number of procedures to reach 55 million performed in 2015. Portrait 3D, Axis Three's initial product, is designed for breast procedures and is currently being used by plastic surgeons in Europe and North America.
