Axis Systems and Mentor Graphics Settle Litigation; Agree to Patent Cross-License.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. & WILSONVILLE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2002

Axis Systems, Inc. and Mentor Graphics Mentor Graphics, Inc (NASDAQ: MENT) is a US-based multinational corporation dealing in electronic design automation (EDA) for electrical engineering and electronics, as of 2004, ranked third in the EDA industry it helped create.  Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT) today announced they had reached a settlement of their patent litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. The act or process of bringing a lawsuit in and of itself; a judicial contest; any dispute.

When a person begins a civil lawsuit, the person enters into a process called litigation.
. As part of the settlement, the companies will cross-license emulation patents and drop their on-going lawsuits. The settlement covers Mentor's IKOS(R) emulation patents and Axis' hardware-assisted verification patents.
