Axis Products Fit Criteria For California's Proposition 1D Allocating $100 Million for Energy Efficient Schools.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS CHPS Collaborative for High Performance Schools
CHPS Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security
CHPS Center for Health Policy Studies (healthcare consulting firm with offices in New York, Maryland, and Illinois)

) in California is celebrating the recent passing of Proposition 1D. California voters passed the proposition to allocate $100 million dollars to fund the design and construction of energy efficient school facilities. The funding is part of a larger $10.4 billion dollar package designated to upgrade public schools, including kindergarten kindergarten [Ger.,=garden of children], system of preschool education. Friedrich Froebel designed (1837) the kindergarten to provide an educational situation less formal than that of the elementary school but one in which children's creative play instincts would be  through 12th grade, community colleges, and state universities.

Since most schools have an abundant amount of natural daylight in their classrooms, they are a perfect candidate to convert to the Axis DDH ballast system from their original standard fluorescent lighting and take advantage of daylight harvesting."

Daylight harvesting technologies are a part of the recommended practices published in the design manual for CHPS school construction. The Axis DDH ballast has been installed in multiple schools in locations throughout California, including Marin County, Madera County, San Joaquin San Joaquin (săn wäkēn`), river, c.320 mi (510 km) long, rising in the Sierra Nevada, E Calif., and flowing W then N through the S Central Valley to form a large delta with the Sacramento River near Suisun Bay, an arm of San Francisco Bay.  County, Fresno County, Fremont, Elk Grove Elk Grove can refer to:

About the Collaborative of High Performance Schools

The mission of the Collaborative of High Performance Schools (CHPS) is to facilitate the design of high performance schools and create environments that are not only energy efficient, but also healthy, comfortable, well lit, and contain the amenities needed for quality education.

CHPS helps to facilitate and inspire change in our educational system. The goals of CHPS are to:

* Increase student performance by implementing better designed, healthier facilities.

* Raise awareness of the impact and advantages of high performance school design

* Provide design professionals with better tools to facilitate effective design.

* Increase school energy and resource efficiency.

The Axis Dimming/Daylight Harvesting (DDH) ballast is priced competitively and is the only daylight harvesting ballast system that can be marketed as a replacement for a standard ballast.

About the Axis DDH Ballast

A "ballast" is an electronic component that regulates voltage in fluorescent lighting. Axis Technologies Group, Inc. has developed an innovative new ballast with the aim of expanding daylight harvesting into mainstream fluorescent lighting applications. The patented Axis Dimming/Daylight Harvesting Ballast is a new technology that transforms the ballast, a once standard lighting industry staple, into a dynamic energy saving system that can reduce lighting energy costs by up to 70%. The Axis DDH Ballast utilizes an individual photo sensor to automatically adjust the amount of electrical current flowing to the light fixture, and then dims or increases lighting in conjunction with the amount of available sunlight that may be harvested from available windows and sunlight. The Axis DDH Ballast avoids "over-lit" conditions that increase energy costs by keeping lighting "tuned" to the desired level in a designated area.
