Axis Introduces Active Tampering Alarm Providing New Level of Intelligent Video.

CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Axis Communications Axis Communications AB (XSSE:AXIS) is a manufacturer of IT equipment, mostly known for its print servers and network cameras. According to its latest annual report, it has sold over 500.000 network cameras, thus claiming to be the world leader in that market. , the global leader in the network video market, announced today the introduction of the Active Tampering tampering The adulteration of a thing. The Active Tampering Alarm technology in network cameras is appropriate for schools, prisons and public transportation where vandalism may be common. Without the Active Tampering Alarm, attacks, impairments or interferences can go unnoticed for long periods of time. This is especially true for applications where one operator monitors multiple cameras. "Without the Active Tampering Alarm enhancement, security can be severely compromised due to a delay in collecting and capturing useful video surveillance data," says Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications. "The Active Tampering Alarm eliminates issues of camera manipulation by immediately alerting the control center when there has been a security breach, whether intentional or accidental."
