2007 Contributions Set a New Record

TAMPA, Fla. -- Axiom Worldwide President and CEO Jim Gibson and his family have once again underwritten the expenses associated with the annual Bob Sierra Family YMCA fundraising event "Caribana." This year's event was held October 13th at the International Jet Center adjacent to Tampa International Airport. The event is completely run by volunteers to raise funds to provide scholarships for children and families with special physical or financial needs that cannot afford the benefits of the YMCA. A silent and a live auction at this year's event has set a new record with contributions approaching $150,000. In an interview with Tampa Tribune reporter Harold Valentine, Mr. Gibson and his wife shared why they have become involved with the YMCA and the Caribana event. Mr. Gibson stated that, "...children, and what the YMCA does for them, is what motivated his family to help. With four daughters, he said he likes that his money and time go directly to accommodate poor families and children with disabilities." Mrs. Gibson, who sits on the Caribana committee, continued by saying, "We know that not everyone is as fortunate as we are in many ways. We want to give back to the community.
