South Eugene won a pair of boys tennis matches Thursday to clinch the Midwestern League dual-meet title. The host Axemen swept both Thurston and Marshfield 8-0 to beat out Churchill and Sheldon for the regular-season championship.

North Eugene won all three singles matches, but Marshfield came back and swept doubles play as the Highlanders and Pirates played to a 3-3 tie at North.

Paul Koch of North beat James Brandt 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Robbie Wilson and Travis Nelson of Marshfield beat Trevor Enright and Josh Kagi 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.

Girls

Sheldon and Churchill each won two singles matches and two doubles contests to tie 4-4 in a meet at Sheldon, giving each team a share of the Midwestern League dual-meet title.

Tiffany Greider and Meghan Greider of Sheldon held on to beat Jessica Buzalsky and Asha Burden 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 4 doubles to knot the meet at four matches each. Either team would have won the title outright with a win Thursday.

Danae Dougherty led a Thurston sweep in singles play, beating South Eugene's Lora Bailey 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 1 match as the Colts beat the visiting Axemen 6-2.

South Eugene won the top two doubles matches, including Olivia Bagdade and Emily Shankman beating Sarah Lemme The Lemme is a 35 km torrent, a right tributary of the Orba, which flows through the Province of Alessandria in northern Italy.

Its source is near Monte Calvo; from there it passes through the communes of Fraconalto, Voltaggio, Carrosio, Gavi, San Cristoforo, Francavilla

Willamette won every match in straight sets to beat visiting Springfield 8-0.
