Axemen take top seed from MWL.

Katie Hulse scored unassisted in the 14th minute as host South Eugene grabbed the Midwestern League's No. 1 seed into the state playoffs with a 1-0 prep girls soccer win over Churchill on Thursday.

Kristen Nelson had the shutout in goal with two saves as the Wildcats outshot the Bulldogs 23-4. The teams fought to a 0-0 tie at halftime.
