Andrew Meyer scored in the second minute and Joe Claycomb tallied an insurance goal in the 72nd minute as host South Eugene handed Tigard a 2-0 nonleague prep boys soccer defeat on Thursday.

Brian Rowe got the shutout and three saves in goal for the Axemen.

In other boys soccer games

Girls soccer

South Eugene 1, Jesuit 1: Jenny Phillips scored in the 57th minute to give South Eugene a nonleague tie with host Jesuit.

Lauren Wilkins tallied a goal in the 25th minute to give the Crusaders the early lead.

Sheldon 1, Crescent Valley 0: Freshman Taylor Housley scored in the 70th minute to give the Irish a nonleague win over host Crescent Valley.

West Albany 1, Springfield 0: Bethany Stearns scored in the 36th minute to give the Bulldogs the nonleague victory over the visiting Millers.

Thurston 1, Crater 0: Madie Whitsel scored in the 26th minute and Thurston made it stand up for a nonleague victory over host Crater.

Erin Lewis got the shutout in goal for the Colts.

North Eugene 3, South Albany 0: Esty Geiger, Dani Bishop and Marissa Santana scored second-half goals in the host Highlanders' nonleague win.

Stephanie Overholt picked up the shutout in goal.
