Axel Commichau to head Mobil's European Gas Group.FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 1995--Mobil Corporation announced today that Axel Axel: see Absalon. Commichau, marketing manager for Mobil Erdgas-Erdoel GmbH, its exploration and producing unit in Germany, has been named general manager of Mobil Europe Gas Inc. (MEGAS). Based in The Hague, The Hague, The (hāg), Du. 's Gravenhage or Den Haag, Fr. La Haye, city (1994 pop. 445,279), administrative and governmental seat of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, capital of South Holland prov., W Netherlands, on the North Sea. Netherlands, MEGAS was established late in 1994 to expand all aspects of Mobil's natural gas business in Europe, including improving Mobil's supply base, finding new markets for its gas and investing in new pipelines and storage projects. In this effort, MEGAS works closely with Mobil's existing affiliates and coordinates Mobil's natural gas business across Europe. Dr. Commichau, 57, graduated from Aachen University in Germany with a Ph.D. in chemistry. He joined Mobil Oil AG (MOAG MOAG Missouri Agricultural Industries Council MOAG Mother of All Grids ), Mobil's wholly owned German subsidiary, in 1965 as a research assistant. In 1976, after a series of marketing and planning positions with Mobil in New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. He assumed his current responsibilities in 1987. In 1992, he was named a member of the Executive Board of MOAG. Mobil has a strong presence in exploration and production of natural gas offshore in the U.K. and Norway, and onshore in Germany and The Netherlands. With access to large and long-term supplies of natural gas, Mobil is a major natural gas marketer in the U.K. and Germany.
