Axalto Teams with Adobe to Offer Convenient and Secure Document Controls; Innovative Smart Card Security Solution Simplifies Governmental and Corporate Compliance.

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands -- Document management and security are integral components of regulatory compliance and privacy. Axalto (EURONEXT:AXL) and (EURONEXT:NL0000400653), the world's largest provider of microprocessor cards, announced it has teamed with Adobe Systems Incorporated to address this critical requirement by providing non-repudiative signatures, encryption and access controls in document publishing tools. The solution is available now on Axalto's Cyberflex Access smart card products and works with the popular Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) software, version 6.0 and above.

Customers using Axalto smart cards are able to seamlessly and electronically sign, encrypt, and secure access to documents using the portable credentials they carry securely on their smart card badges. Adobe Acrobat will automatically detect the available credentials on their Axalto card. A non-repudiative, read-only visual mark representing the smart card bearer's digital signature and indicating the individual's agreement, authorship, review, or approval of the document can then be quickly inserted into an Adobe PDF file. The viewable file can then be transmitted via email to other relevant parties for subsequent review or stored for future reference. These document security features can be used in many scenarios, for example to secure confidential information, to restrict access to a classified document to selected individuals, to verify the source of a proposal or memorandum, or to confirm and record that someone in an organization has reviewed a regulatory document.
