AUSTIN, Texas -- Furthering its long-standing strategy to provide convenient solutions to mobile communications operators, Axalto today introduced its Hosted Services portfolio, a complete and flexible outsourcing solution for regional network providers in the United States and Canada. Axalto sets-up, operates and manages "over-the-air" (OTA) platform services and value-added applications to reduce the technical and financial resource requirements for operators - especially those that are regional -- and allow them to focus on their core business of providing mobile services.

To provide a turnkey solution, Axalto Hosted Services starts with a team of experienced network professionals that work with each operator to plan and design an optimal portfolio of server-based operations and subscriber services. Axalto then deploys, operates and maintains the system for the network provider, while providing a complete spectrum of customer services. Axalto can also manage one-time, short-term campaigns from start to finish for operators that simply need to periodically outsource OTA SIM card management projects.

The hosted services available from Axalto include over-the-air card activation, card management, Simgo(sm), SIMsave and Device Configuration. With OTA, Axalto delivers a unified mobile service management platform, giving operators the flexibility to use SMS or GPRS to manage subscribers' SIMs remotely. This platform provides a modular and flexible set of components that enable configuration of handset settings and SIM card file management.

Simgo is an over-the-air administration and management system, which gives operators the capability to design, develop and deploy services interactively and to target subscribers effectively. Based on a highly efficient use of SMS messaging, Simgo makes it easier for operators to manage content and present menus to consumers that are easy to navigate.

SIMsave provides phonebook synchronization with a backup database over-the-air. It also allows the phonebook to be updated via a web portal and can be synchronized with other electronic phonebooks (handset, PDA, laptop.) This service provides the subscriber with phonebook protection in the event their handset is lost or stolen and allows the phonebook to be easily moved to a new handset.

Device Configuration allows for one-click handset parameter set-up, easy for both the operator and the subscriber. This service also includes handset change notification, notifying the operator every time a subscriber moves a SIM to a new handset. This helps operators keep track of their subscriber base and provide the best and most accurate services offer and customer service.
