San Diego, CA: SDSU police are investigating whether excessive force was used when an officer used a Taser stun gun to subdue an on-campus skateboarder resisting arrest resisting arrest n. the crime of using physical force (no matter how slight in the eyes of most law enforcement officers) to prevent arrest, handcuffing and/or taking the accused to jail. .

 and posted on YouTube.com, happened Tuesday morning when an SDSU police officer stopped nonstudent Joshua Michael Gandy, 21, for skateboarding in violation of campus rules, said university spokesman Jack Beresford. Police say Gandy became combative when the officer tried to issue a ticket.

While two officers were wrestling him to the ground, one pulled his Taser and used it on a mild stun setting that doesn't shoot off projectiles, the spokesman said.

Gandy was issued two misdemeanor citations for skateboarding in a prohibited area and resisting arrest, then released.
