Awesome foursome as Bangor find form.

Byline: DAVE JONES
This article is about the football manager. For the California politician and Assemblymember, see Dave Jones (politician).
David Ronald (Dave) Jones (born August 17 1956 in Liverpool) is an English football manager currently in charge of Cardiff City.

BEFORE Friday night's clash City manager Neville Powell stressed the need for his players to take their goal-scoring chances when they came - and they certainly did not let him down.

The Farrar Road faithful witnessed what was surely Bangor's best performance of the season as they took apart a Prestatyn Town side riding high in fourth place in the Welsh Premier League and beaten just once in their previous nine league matches.

While the final score was 4-0 it could so easily have been 10.

The match stats showed City had 23 goal attempts compared to just seven from the visitors.

From the start Bangor were on the money. Sion Edwards was a menace down the left all evening and the midfield functioned like a well-oiled machine, each man getting the better of their opponent with majestic Marc Limbert at his very best.

Up front, Chris Sharp was inspired with only some off-key finishing tainting a fantastic performance.

Just like all good strikers, though, Sharp kept persisting and finally got his well-deserved goal five minutes from time.

Defenders must find Sharp a nightmare to play against - he never stops running and pressurising and certainly Prestatyn centre-half Adrian Moody will be in no hurry to see him again.

Powell could hardly have been happier after only a second home league win of the season lifted his team up towards mid-table.

"I thought we thoroughly deserved a 4-0 victory which could have been a lot more," said the Bangor boss.

"I'd been saying beforehand that our finishing was the only thing that's been missing this season and that if the chances go in we're capable of big wins like this."

While disappointed at the outcome, Prestatyn player-manager Neil Gibson was not too despondent de·spon·dent

"It's important the players don't get too down about this," he said.

"We've had a very good start and if someone had told me we'd have 20 points from our first 10 games at the start of the season I'd have been more than happy with that.

"It's important now we pick ourselves up and look to turn things around next week in the Welsh Cup The Welsh Cup is a knock-out football competition contested annually by teams from Wales.

Bangor started Friday's game on the front foot and took a 16th-minute lead when Mark Smyth Mark Smyth, (born 9 January 1985 in Liverpool) is an English football midfield player who started his career playing for Liverpool. Smyth made one appearance for Liverpool, coming on as a substitute in a Carling Cup quarter final win at Tottenham in December 2004.  played a free-kick short to Limbert who ran across the Prestatyn defence and lashed home a right-foot cracker from over 20 yards.

City boss Seconds later Sharp rose in the box to meet an Edwards cross and the ball broke to Jamie Reed Jamieson Ronald Reed (born August 4, 1973) is the Labour Member of Parliament for the UK constituency of Copeland, elected in the 2005 general election. He replaced Copeland's long-serving former MP Jack Cunningham.  who applied a deadly finish.

In a rare Prestatyn threat, Paul Smith produced a fine stop from a Steve Rogers The name Steve Rogers can refer to:

header, but on 39 minutes Sharp broke clear down the right and his byeline cross left Edwards with the easiest of conversions.

Only good stops from keeper Matt Towns denied Sharp and Smyth after the break, while substitute Ashley Stott did well to rob Dave A file sharing program from Thursby Software Systems, Inc., Arlington, TX (www.thursby.com) that allows a Macintosh to share files with a PC. Designed specifically for and needing installation only on the Mac, DAVE works with Microsoft's native SMB/CIFS file sharing protocols and uses  Hayes but should have done better than drag his shot wide.

Michael Parker missed a sitter for the visitors and Smith did well to beat away a Gareth Wilson thunderbolt.

Neville Powell Then, with just five minutes left, James Brewerton flicked on Peter Hoy's long throw and Sharp headed in from close range.

BANGOR CITY: Smith, Hoy, Roberts, Johnston, Brewerton, Morley, Reed (Stott 67), Limbert (Connor 86), Sharp, Smyth, Edwards (Owen 87).

PRESTATYN TOWN: Towns, A Davies (Williams 63), Lewis, Hayes, Moody, Wilson, Parker, Gibson, Moran, Rogers (Harris 65), Jones.
