Away day joy for Met.

TYNE MET claimed another three points with a superb 2-1 victory against a physical Middlesbrough side.

Visitors Met got off to the best possible start with full-back Paul Elliott playing a fantastic throughball for striker Stephen Forster to run on to and coolly finish.

However, Boro were stunned into action and started to press Tyne Met back into their own half but the away side defended brilliantly at times, putting their bodies on the line for the cause.

After a direct ball forward from goal keeper Phil Holgate, Middlesbrough were caught out and Forster powered the ball home to double Tyne Met's lead.

The half-time whistle blew and it was looking comfortable for the North Tyneside lads.

As expected Boro came out fighting at the start of the second half and Tyne Met had a game on their hands.

Boro halved the deficit after a dubious offside decision was ruled in their favour and it was definitely game on.

However, Tyne Met defended well to see out a fantastic 2-1 win on the road.
