The crew of Carl Vinson (CVN (Card Verification Number) See CSC.  70) earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS ESWS Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist
ESWS East Side West Side
) and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS EAWS Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist ) pennants. To qualify for the honor of flying the pennants, all E-5 and above sailors with more than 18 months on board must earn their ESWS or EAWS qualifications.
