AO1(EOD/DSW/SW/AW/PJ) Charles Bryant and AW1(SW/NAC) Bill Volk were named the 2004 Atlantic Fleet Sea and Shore Sailors of the Year, respectively.

NAES Lakehurst, N.J., is the Navy's winner of the 2004 Commander in Chief's Award for Installation Excellence. The award goes to the installation from each service that has made the best use of available resources to accomplish its assigned mission, increase workforce productivity and enhance quality of life for its personnel.

 Futenma, Japan, received the Robert Graham Enlisted Award for outstanding performance. The annual award is presented to the sailor who has effectively promoted and supported the Aeromedical Safety Program, contributing to operational readiness.

 (CVN 75) and Nimitz (CVN 68) were named winners of 2003 Carrier Battle Efficiency Awards.

Three squadrons from Carrier Air Wing 3 received Commander Naval Air Forces 2003 achievement awards. VFA-105 won the RAdm. C. Wade McClusky Rear Admiral Clarence Wade McClusky, Jr., (1 June 1902–27 June 1976) was a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy during World War II. He is credited with playing a major part in the Battle of Midway.  Award, VAQ-130 received the Adm. Arthur W. Radford Arthur William Radford (February 27, 1896 – August 17, 1973) was an U.S. Navy Admiral, Commander-in-Chief of the United States Pacific Command and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Arthur Radford was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1896.
 Award and VAW-126 claimed the RAdm. Frank Akers Award. In addition to the squadron awards, LCdr. Damien Christopher was named Landing Signal Officer of the Year.

VR-48 received the 2003 Noel Davis Battle Efficiency Award for reserve squadrons and the 2003 James M. Holcombe Maintenance Excellence Award.

HT-8 earned three awards: the CNO Naval Environmental Stewardship Flagship Award for its work with the state of Florida and local conservation groups in rehabilitating land and waterways; the CNATRA Training Excellence Award, designating it the top advanced training squadron; and the CNO Health, Safety and Fitness Award recognizing squadrons that display the greatest attention to community health issues.

The Naval Aviation Schools Command, NAS Pensacola, Fla., received the 2003 Retention Excellence Award, the second consecutive honor, after achieving retention goals set forth by the Chief of Naval Operations chief of naval operations

VFA-82 was awarded the Top Hook Award for having the best landing grades among all squadrons in CVW-1 during their 2003-2004 deployment.

Enterprise (CVN 65), John C. Stennis (CVN 74), Iwo Jima (LHD 3) and NAF Atsugi, Japan, were recipients of the 2004 Capt. Edward Ney Award for Food Service Excellence. The award recognizes excellence in improving the quality of life for sailors and Marines.

Helicopter crews from CGAS New Orleans, La., and CGAS Houston, Texas, were awarded the Coast Guard Foundation's Guardian of the Heartland Award. The award recognizes an individual active duty Coast Guardsman or a group of Coast Guardsmen from the Eighth Coast Guard District who performed an outstanding and heroic act during the calendar year. Winners from CGAS New Orleans are LCdr. Russell Burnside, Ltjg. David Merriman, AMT See vPro. 3 Kevin Lajeunesse and AST (AST Computer, Irvine, CA) A PC manufacturer founded in 1980 by Albert Wong, Safi Quershey and Tom Yuen (A, S and T). It offered a complete line of PCs that sold through its dealer channel. 3 Laurence Nettles for rescuing four people during Tropical Storm Bill on 30 June 2003. Winners from CGAS Houston included Lt. Brian Kostecki, Ltjg. John Scott, AMT2 Aaron Nachlas and AST3 Claude Morrissey for their rescue of two fishermen during Tropical Storm Claudette on 15 July 2003.

The aviation community winners of the 2003 Secretary of the Navy Achievement in Safety Ashore awards are NADEP Jacksonville, Fla.; MCAS Miramar, Calif.; NAS Atlanta, Ga.; and NAS Keflavik, Iceland.

VAW-117 and Ms. Barbara Wright of NADEP Jacksonville, Fla., received 2003 Adm. Vern Clark Safety Awards. VMA-223 received the 2003 General James L. Jones General James Logan Jones, Jr., USMC, (born December 19, 1943) is the former Supreme Allied Commander, Europe (SACEUR) (2003-2006) and the Commander of the United States European Command (COMUSEUCOM) (2003-2006).  Safety Award.
