The Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright Foundation, founded by author Marita Golden and Border's Books and Music have joined together to present the first annual Legacy Awards. The three $10,000 and four $5,000 awards will honor the best books by authors of African descent in three categories: debut/first fiction, literary fiction and nonfiction non·fic·tion

1. Prose works other than fiction: I've read her novels but not her nonfiction.

2. The category of literature consisting of works of this kind.

Carl Weber Carl Weber is a theatre director and has been Professor of drama at Stanford University since 1984.
