The Kerala Film Award 2008 show has run into turbulence turbulence, state of violent or agitated behavior in a fluid. Turbulent behavior is characteristic of systems of large numbers of particles, and its unpredictability and randomness has long thwarted attempts to fully understand it, even with such powerful tools as after the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS BKS Barracks BKS Best Kept Secret (gaming) BKS Bildung, Kultur Und Sport (German) BKS Brookside (city) BKS Bergen Kirurgiske Sykehus (Bergen, Norway) ) pulled out yesterday. It is being organised by a company calling itself Award Ceremony Bahrain, which allegedly wrote bounced cheques totalling BD4,000 to the BKS. The organisation has also been accused of writing dud cheques to media organisations in Bahrain that advertised the event. Indian stars who organisers said would be at the show are also pulling out - with at least one confirming he had still not received his advance. The event is being billed as an award ceremony and organisers have said 10,000 people in Bahrain have taken part in voting - with each voter VOTER. One entitled to a vote; an elector. paying BD1 for the privilege. "They (the organisers) wished to use the Samajam's name and good will to increase the reputation of their show, but the agreement says nothing about us promoting them in any way," said BKS president G K Nair. "They agreed to give us 500 gala votes, which they didn't. "Apart from this they agreed to pay BD5,000 (towards a charity fund) for us to associate with them. "But we received only BD1,000, while the cheques for the remaining amount bounced. "They were unable to pay or meet the conditions in the agreement that would have involved finance. "So they approached us with their situation and we mutually agreed to terminate the agreement. "We were ne ver satisfied with their organising abilities and the way things were going. "They seemed to have ventured into this project without even the sufficient funds required. "It is not in our interest to harm anybody but the Samajam will not take any chances that risk ruining its reputation." The event is supposed to take place on October 3 at the Bahrain National Museum Since 1988 a rich collection of Bahrain's ancient archaeological artifacts have been on display at the purpose-built Bahrain National Museum. The museum covers 6000 years of Bahrain's history. and organisers had said leading members of the Indian film industry would be present to collect a total of 21 awards, based on nominations from fans here. However, Mr Jayachandran denied organisers' claims that he had received his advance and said he would not be travelling without it. "I have not received any advance money and if they say that they have paid me, it is not true," he said. "I will not confirm my presence at the show unless the payment is made." Mr Sreekumar has also confirmed he will not be attending. "He will not be able to attend the ceremony in Bahrain on October 3 because he is too busy," said his son Rajkumar. "We have informed the organisers of this." Mr Prasad added that he was still unable to confirm his presence at the event, but also said he had not received his advance. "I cannot confirm that I will come for this Bahrain show," he said. "Nothing has been finalised yet, including travel plans," he added. Award Ceremony Bahrain managing director Santhosh Kumar yesterday admitted that the BKS had not received the agreed payment. "It is true that we agreed to pay them BD5,000, but we got no support in return," said Mr Kumar. "Maybe our cheques bounced, but that does not mean we are going to run away from the country. "We have no intention of cheating anyone and will pay our supporters and creditors after the event. "The show will definitely go on, despite the Samajam or anyone else for that matter withdrawing. "Even if the show turns out to be a financial loss to us, we will still pay those we owe." "This would mean that we get exclusive rights to broadcast the show in return for promoting the event. "However, the channel has not made any commitment to the organisers or signed anything. "It is under consideration, that's all, which means they have no right to use our name until we do."
