The BH&HS presented the following awards on May 23, 2003: Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Contributions to Baptist History to William J. Reynolds, Fort Worth, Texas Fort Worth is the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas, 18th-largest city in the United States[1], and voted one of "America’s Most Livable Communities. ; Davis C. Woolley Award for Outstanding Achievement in State Baptist History to Nelda Kent, Glendale, Arizona; Norman W. Cox Award for Best Article Published by the BH&HS in 2002 to Glenn Jonas, Buies Creek, North Carolina Buies Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the Neills Creek Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,215 at the 2000 census. ; Officers Award to Charles R. Wade and to William M. Pinson, Jr., both of Dallas, Texas; the Meritorious Service Award to James E. Taulman, Franklin, Tennessee; and the Baptist Heritage Preaching Contest Awards (in conjunction with the H. Franklin Paschall Chair of Biblical Studies and Preaching at Belmont University) to Wallace Alcorn, Wallace Alcorn Associates, Austin, Minnesota (first place), Marc S. Mullinax, Mars Hill College Mars Hill College is a private, coed, liberal-arts college affiliated with the North Carolina Baptist Convention. The college is located in the small town of Mars Hill, North Carolina, 15 miles due north of Asheville, western North Carolina's largest city.  (second place), and Samuel A.
