Awards event.THE third annual Muslim Enterprise Development Service (MEDS meds A popular term for physician-prescribed medications ) awards honoured stalwarts of the business community and volunteers this week, including recognition of three key figures for their support of the Toxteth agency. (formerly) the British viceroy in Ireland Alan Waterworth, the Rt Rev Dr Rupert Hoare and former city council chief Sir David Henshaw received their MEDS Chairman's special awards at the event in Sefton Park's Lace Conference Centre which drew an audience of more than 260. MEDS executive director Mumin Khan was also praised for his commitment during the past five years. He is leaving to set up his own business.
