The symposium will feature an appearance and visual presentation by artist Thomas Blackshear II, who has illustrated 20 postage stamps. Blackshear is best known for his best-selling Christian prints by DaySpring's Masterpiece Collection. In addition, the great-great granddaughter of Madam C.J. Walker Madam C. J. Walker (December 23, 1867–May 25, 1919) was an African American philanthropist and tycoon who made her fortune developing and marketing a hugely successful line of beauty and hair products for black women. , A'Lelia Bundles, will join a host of other speakers who will pay tribute to the new Harris stamp.
