Award-Winning Host Eric Hogue Joins AM 1100 KFAX; KFAX welcomes Sacramento's Eric Hogue Show to Afternoon Line-Up.

SAN FRANCISCO -- "The Spirit of the Bay," AM 1100 KFAX, announced today it will be adding the award-winning talk show host Eric Hogue to its weekday line-up. "The Eric Hogue Show: The New Talk of Northern California," which originated in Sacramento, will make its debut in the San Francisco Bay Area on Monday, September 11th, at 5 p.m.

KFAX General Manager Ken Miller considers Hogue to be "an experienced host who truly understands contemporary talk from a Christian worldview." KFAX will add Hogue to its league of prominent Christian teaching and talk hosts, such as Dr. James Dobson, Pastor Paul Sheppard and Chip Ingram. "We're always looking for ways to bring better local programming to our listeners, so it's exciting to bring someone of Eric's caliber to our afternoon drive time," Miller added.

Hogue commented: "I am excited about the opportunity to reach a larger audience with the same kind of lively talk and debate I've shared with listeners over the last few years. This is a privilege that I take seriously and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Hogue will make his first live appearance in the San Francisco Bay Area on October 13 as he broadcasts live from the 2006 San Jose Harvest Crusade. The Harvest Crusade features Greg Laurie as guest speaker, along with numerous A-list Christian performers like the Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, Kutless, Chris Rice and others. "Being able to sit and chat with such big names is always great, but I'm more excited to meet and talk to our new listeners," Hogue said. Listeners will be able to meet Hogue live, while he broadcasts from the HP Pavilion from 5-7 p.m.

Hogue may be best known for launching California's recall of former Governor Gray Davis. In Sacramento, Hogue helped drive the original signers of the "Intent to Recall Governor Davis" document, which later became the official petition for Davis' recall. Through Hogue's efforts, his show became historically known as "The Home of the Recall."

Additionally, Hogue has been honored with the Andy Anderson Award, Salem Communications' National Talk Show Host of the Year award, and the National Religious Broadcasters honored Hogue and his Sacramento station with the 2004 Talk Station of the Year award.
