When the Catholic Press Association awards are given out for this year's writings, I hope that Dr. Lynn-Beth Satterly's article is among the winners ("A Doctor's Dilemma," September September: see month.  23). As a committed Catholic, Satterly knows what it is to struggle over conscientious con·sci·en·tious  
adj.
1. Guided by or in accordance with the dictates of conscience; principled: a conscientious decision to speak out about injustice.

 decisions. I think she would enjoy the company, if not the label, of anyone designated a "faithful dissenter," with emphasis on "faithful." The giants of our Catholic moral tradition, past and present, would be very proud of her.
