Award puts Bahrain on hospitality map.


BAHRAINI businessman Qutub Dadabhai has been named this year's recipient of the Lamp of Knowledge Award for Outstanding Educator (International) by US-based American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of  Hotel and Lodging Lodging or holiday accommodation is a type of accommodation. People who travel and stay away from home for more than a day need lodging mainly for sleeping. Other purposes are safety, shelter from cold and rain, having a place to store luggage and being able to take a  Educational Institute (AHLEI).

The Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Retail (BIHR) chairman received the award during the AHLEI Stars of the Industry Awards Luncheon in Chicago.

Mr Dadabhai said it was a proud moment not only for the BIHR but also for Bahrain as a whole.

"The fact that from among 120 countries and 1,800 licensees of the AHLEI, we were selected for this prestigious award is a huge achievement for Bahrain.

"We are honoured to have put Bahrain on the world's map of hospitality education and training.

He said the AHLEI has licences in countries like Egypt, China and Spain and train millions of people around the world.
