Award of Excellence.The Detroiter magazine's Second Annual Complete Business Resource Guide (December December: see month. 2002) received an "Award of Excellence" in the annual ACE Awards competition sponsored by the American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE ACCE Acceptance ACCE American Chamber of Commerce Executives ACCE American Council for Construction Education ACCE American College of Clinical Engineering ACCE Australian Council for Computers in Education ). [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] The Award of Excellence goes to entries that score 90-99 on a 100-point scale. The Detroiter received scores of 97 and 94. Judges' comments included: * "Great link with strategic plan and objectives." * "Excellent use of color not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed. See also: Color and color theme; great articles, full of tips, quizzes, etc." * "Good use of color and theme headings on each page; consistent format good; good table of contents." This year's competition drew 295 entries from 95 chambers of commerce throughout the country. Awards will be presented at the 2003 Chamber Professionals Conference in Denver. |
