Award honour for civil engineer.A CIVIL engineer from Warwickshire Warwickshire (wŏ`rĭkshĭr), county (1991 pop. 477,000), 975 sq mi (2,525 sq km), central England. The county seat is Warwick. The terrain is gently rolling, with outcroppings of the Cotswold Hills in the south. has been honoured with an award from his peers. The Institution of Civil Engineers Founded on 2 January 1818, the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is an independent professional association, based in central London, representing civil engineers. Like its early membership, the majority of its current members are British engineers, but it also has members in (ICE) presented a Spirit of Telford award to Chris Nason, of Warwickshire County Council, at a ceremony in Birmingham. The awards are given to those engineers who most closely reflect the ideals of engineering legend, Thomas Telford. Mr Nason, a group engineer at the council's design services, was praised for his passion about the development of the profession, and for his impact on the work of the county council and on civil engineering in the region. Another award was given to one of the men behind the transformation of Birmingham city centre. Neil Dancer, Birmingham's chief highways engineer, has been a key figure on such major schemes as the ICC ICC See: International Chamber of Commerce , NIA, Bull Ring and civic squares. |
