Award for 'green' team.


KIRKLEES Neighbourhood Housing's commitment to the 'green agenda' has been officially recognised as being the best in the country.

The organisation won the award for 'best green initiative' at the annual Corgi corgi: see Cardigan Welsh corgi; Pembroke Welsh corgi.  awards The awards are considered to be the Oscars of the heating and plumbing industry.

Richard Garner, an energy officer for Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing and author of the winning submission, accepted the award at a ceremony in Coventry.

In the past year, KNH KNH Kenyatta National Hospital  has successfully bid for pounds 13.6m from Kirklees Council to install renewable energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation.  systems in many of the council-owned houses managed by the company.

This will include installing solar energy solar energy, any form of energy radiated by the sun, including light, radio waves, and X rays, although the term usually refers to the visible light of the sun.  systems in 49 all-electric homes and all fourbedroom houses and extending the use of air source and ground source heat pumps to other homes that are hard to heat.
