The 3rd Annual Texas Technology Conference, scheduled for March 26 - 27, has issued a call for entries for its 2002 Texas Technology Conference Technology Awards Competition program. The awards competition, in its inaugural year, recognizes the top technology innovations that have been developed and introduced in the State of Texas during 2002.

 Technology Awards Competitions is:

    1. To recognize Texas-based technology companies who design and/or
        conceive innovative technological concepts through actual
        operating data.

    2. To communicate to the business market at large that innovative
        solutions are being developed by Texas-based technologists.


TTC Technology Award applications are accepted in the each of the following categories:


    1. Best Technology Product Released in 2002

    2. Best Industry Solution Launched in 2002

    3. Best Intellectual Property Developed in 2002

    4. Best White Paper Written in 2002

    5. Best Emerging Solution Introduced in 2002

    6. Best Technology Project Implemented in 2002


Awards are given at the judges' discretion. All first-place awards in each category are automatically eligible for consideration for the "TTC Award of Technology Excellence."

TTC honors only technologies that are outstanding in technology innovation and originate o·rig·i·nate

 from the State of Texas. An award in a category is not given if entries do not meet the highest standards. The "TTC Award of Technology Excellence" is given at the judges' discretion.

The first place TTC Technology Awards for the six categories and the TTC Award of Technology Excellence are presented during the Texas Technology Conference scheduled for March 26-27, 2003 at the April Sound Country Club & Resort in Lake Conroe Lake Conroe is a 21,000 acre (85 km²) lake in Conroe, Texas, United States. The lake lies on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River just west of Interstate 45 off of State Highway 105 in Montgomery and Walker counties. The lake runs through classic East Texas Piney Woods forests. , Texas.

The competition is open to any technology company with a physical location based in Texas. The popularity of the submission is not relevant to the competition. It gives the opportunity for small technology firms and individuals to compete against much larger and more well known technology organizations. Entrants must have had a significant role in the design or development of submitted entry.

Entries may be entered into more than one category. Closing date for entries is Feb. 14, 2003.

TTC's judges are hand-selected from technology departments within public and private universities based in Texas. Our judges are professors with a significant tenure in various segments of technology.
