Avotus[R] Corp.

Toronto-based Avotus[R] Corp. has announced enhancements to its expense management capabilities within Intelligent Communications Management[TM] (ICM). Avotus ICM Expense Management "is the first to include international currency support, allowing users to review and pay invoices in local currencies and aggregate the costs from every communications service and asset type around the world into a single currency for corporate-level analysis and control," the company said in an announcement. This latest version also introduces important inventory, financial and service order updates.

Avotus allows users to enter and store conversion rates for several currencies against a base currency
Base Currency
The first currency quoted in a currency pair on forex. It is sometimes referred to as the primary currency.

Notes:
For example, if you were looking at the CAD/USD currency pair, the Canadian dollar would be the base currency and the US dollar would be the quote currency.

; users can then locally process and pay communications invoices in the local currency. The local expenses are converted into the base currency for organization-wide analysis, planning and management.

Conversion rates can be updated as required from recognized reference sources according to company policy. ICM Expense Management reports transactions in real time, since it captures the data as the transaction--for example, a payment--is completed. Users can further localize numeric and date formats, as well as address attributes.

The company is also introducing further enhancements to its expense management offering, which include:

* Enhanced inventory and asset management -- Every asset has an owner assigned to it. It is important to know who has use or possession of a device or service as organizations support more mobile workers with cell phones, PDAs, remote offices and wired and wireless links. Avotus has also added the capability to view and disconnect all inventory associated with a site or an individual in a single action. This helps reclaim company assets, eliminate stranded assets and reduce fraud and abuse.

* Invoice management enhancements -- Scanned or graphic images can be associated directly with electronic invoice representations so they can be easily referenced during invoice processing and during conversations with the carrier. Also, invoices can now be organized into logical batches for processing in accounts payable in either report or electronic file formats, providing flexibility in managing the vendor payment process.

* Enhanced chargeback allocations -- Users can create and charge back extremely detailed allocation rules on every line item of an order and have those rules automatically applied when the carrier invoices arrive. This allows the customer to charge back whole or partial network components within complex network structures with precision.
