Avokia Expands Executive Management Team; Industry Veteran KL Wong Joins Leadership Team at Avokia.

TORONTO -- Avokia Inc., whose software makes fast 24/7 business a reality for enterprises and customers by enabling the continuous availability of database information, today announced the company has hired KL Wong as Vice President of Development. Wong has more than 16 years of management experience as an innovative leader with notable traction in the information technology industry. With solid engineering experience and a background at IBM, his new role at Avokia will involve the development of the company's product portfolio, including specifications and design, quality assurance and release of the product line. Leveraging his wealth of knowledge and expertise, Wong will also drive the development of IT infrastructure management capabilities in Avokia's product group.

Wong is a seasoned industry professional with an extensive background in engineering and research and development. He has held several management positions at companies ranging in size from large corporations to successful startups. He spent four years at IBM on the compiler and DB2 Database development teams. After IBM, Wong held management positions at Algorithimics Incorporated, where he supervised the technical architecture development for the complete Algorithimics risk management product line. Wong also held senior management positions at several startups including: the Bulldog Group, where he was vice president of engineering, and Workbrain where he served as vice president of research and development. Most recently, Wong held the position of CTO at Cube Route Inc. He holds an M.S. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta and an Honors B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in Ontario.
