The company said that LaunchPad enables companies to more easily distribute new applications, or update existing applications for users across corporate networks. The offering addresses the needs of enterprise users who want to improve their IT operations and their bottom line while reducing the complexities associated with daily software administration. LANDesk Management Suite already enables customers to distribute numerous software packages to multiple users in a single operation, without the need for dedicated hardware and to control software availability with policy-based distribution. The release of SP2 for version 8.8 reportedly allows administrators to automate handling of software requests on the back-end to a greater degree, while providing a centralised Adj. 1. centralised - drawn toward a center or brought under the control of a central authority; "centralized control of emergency relief efforts"; "centralized government" centralized location for application installs and execution. Other new features of LANDesk Management Suite 8.8 include centralised application control, just-in-time applications, enabling configuration of software and publishing of application shortcuts without prior local client installation and process-driven deployment.
