LAS VEGAS Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States.  -- Avocent([R]) Corporation (Nasdaq: AVCT AVCT Advanced Vehicles Concept Team ) today announced it has extended the flexibility of its DSView([R]) 3 management software platform for data centers, making IT infrastructure remotely manageable from handheld devices. The company also announced that DSView 3 software will operate with HP OpenView, NetClarity, Uptime Devices and LANDesk Server Manager to deliver additional customer value.

DSView 3 Software Mobility

The worldwide handheld market reached a record number of shipments last year, with 17.7 million devices shipped--a greater than 18 percent increase from 2005--according to Gartner, Inc. Gartner forecasts handheld shipments will continue to rise, exceeding 20 million units shipped in 2007. As IT administrators adopt this technology to become increasingly mobile, being able to perform functions such as server management from these handheld devices makes it possible to executive everyday tasks anytime, anywhere.
