:A) today announced that they have signed an agreement for Avocent to purchase assets and to license technology used by Agilent in its remote management business. Agilent's customers for this product line will now be obtaining products and services from Avocent. The purchase of this business line is not expected to be material to Avocent's financial results for the first quarter of 2006. Remote management products allow administrators to remotely connect to and manage systems, ensuring cost savings for IT managers.

Agilent's remote management products include integrated hardware solutions and management software that ensure higher availability of business-critical systems, such as servers. Agilent products that will be transferred to Avocent include integrated remote management chips and cards, and software utilities.
