Avnet IP&E Signs Tri-Star Electronics International Inc. Distribution Agreement; Mil-Spec Contacts Manufacturer Enhances Distributor's Mil-Aero Business.

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2002

Avnet IP&E and Tri-Star Electronics International Inc. announced that they have entered into a distribution agreement for the sale of Tri-Star's complete line of hi-rel electrical contacts. The agreement teams the world's largest distributor of interconnect, passive and electromechanical The use of electricity to run moving parts. Disk drives, printers and motors are examples. Electromechanical systems must be designed for the eventual deterioration of moving components that wear over time. David Bouzek, Tri-Star's vice president of sales and marketing, stated, "This alliance has the potential to yield significant benefits to both parties, and to their mutual customers. Tri-Star contacts are used by 90 percent of the world's leading aerospace, avionics and electronics OEMs. Avnet IP&E, already a leader in those markets, will be able to even more readily fulfill the requirements of its customers with this addition to its linecard.
