Avnet Hall-Mark Launches Customer Retention Plan to Strengthen Relationships with HP Resellers' Installed Base.

TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2003

Avnet Hall-Mark, a value-added distributor of enterprise servers, storage, software and services, has announced a customer retention program for its Hewlett-Packard value added resellers See VAR.

(company) value added reseller - (VAR, or "value added retailer") A company which sells something (e.g. computers) made by another company (an OEM) with extra components added (e.g. specialist software).
 (VARs). The program helps VARs enhance relationships with their installed base accounts through the use of marketing programs. The overall goal is to increase market share for the VAR and HP.

The customer retention program has three key elements:
-- Electronic communication: Monthly e-newsletters with HP-related content providing news of critical importance to reseller's end-user customers.

-- Printed newsletters: Pre-designed templates with HP-related content targeted to enterprise customers.

-- Opportunity-based direct mail program: customer satisfaction survey centered on the customer buying experience.


The materials and promotions will be private labeled with the reseller's logo. The customer retention program leverages Avnet Hall-Mark's resources to enhance installed base awareness in order to retain important customers and potentially uncover new opportunities.

In addition to the customer retention program, Avnet Hall-Mark also offers an extensive suite of tools and services designed to help resellers penetrate new markets.
