Avnet Forms A New Business Unit -- Avnet Integrated Material Services.

CULVER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 2, 1996--Steve Church, president of Avnet's OEM Marketing Group (OMG), today announced the formation of a new business unit, Avnet Integrated Material Services (IMS). This new organization will be dedicated to providing integrated materials management services for the customers of Hamilton Hallmark, Penstock and Time Electronics.

Greg Frazier, executive vice president of Avnet IMS, will head the new organization and will report directly to Steve Church.

Avnet IMS is chartered with:

-- Developing and implementing information technology-based

materials management solutions.

-- Maintaining a dedicated team of specialists who will manage

the needs of customers by 1) identifying materials management

requirements, 2) identifying and recommending solutions, 3)

implementing Safe Passage(SM) programs and 4) taking

responsibility for overall project management.

-- Providing customers access to the broadest component

offering in the industry through the combined line cards

of Hamilton Hallmark, Time Electronics and Penstock.

-- Providing world-class management of supply chain logistics.
