This acquisition strategically positions Avnet's Computer Marketing Group throughout the UK and provides the opportunity to expand Avnet's computer business to a new global market. Bytech Systems Ltd., whose fiscal 1997 annual sales were in excess of US $55 million, specializes in technical value-added distribution. Bytech serves approximately 280 resellers providing fully supported hardware and software solutions from NT servers to parallel open systems.
