Avnet B2B Classic: First-Ever 16-Inch Softball Tournament for Local Businesses.

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 2003

The Maricopa County Sports Commission announced plans for the Avnet B2B (Business to Business) Refers to one business communicating with or selling to another. See B2B e-commerce, B2C and B2G.

 Classic, a first-ever 16-inch softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies'  tournament open to employees of Valley-area businesses. All net profits from the event will benefit the Youth Education Scholarship Fund, a program run by the Maricopa County Sports Commission giving Arizona high school graduates an opportunity to attend Arizona state colleges.

"Everyone who plays softball is familiar with the traditional 12-inch ball.
