Avnet Applied Computing Solutions, a division of Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced a distribution agreement with LG.Philips LCD, one of the leading innovators of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Avnet Applied Computing Solutions will market LG.Philips LCD's line of LCDs to the computing OEMs and independent software vendors who are looking to bring their single-purpose computing systems to market quickly. Avnet Applied Computing Solutions customers in the medical, kiosk, transportation and gaming markets will benefit from the addition of a family of value-based displays to the Avnet Applied Computing Solutions line card.

According to Carl Steudle, vice president of marketing, North America, for LG.Philips LCD, Avnet has established itself as one of the world's leading distributors in the electronics space -- a critical distinction for the Korean display manufacturer.
