Aviza Technology Receives Repeat Order for Celsior(TM) Single Wafer ALD Systems from Inotera Memories.

Multiple Systems Targeted for Installation at Inotera's Fab 2

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. -- Aviza Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVZA), a supplier of advanced semiconductor equipment and process technologies for the global semiconductor, compound semiconductor, nanotechnology and other related markets, today announced that it has received a follow-on, multiple system order for its next-generation single wafer atomic layer deposition (ALD) system, Celsior[TM], from Inotera Memories, Inc. This order follows on the heels of a successful production release of a Celsior system at Inotera's Fab 1 earlier this year. The latest order of Celsior systems is targeted for Inotera's Fab 2, as part of the foundry's capacity expansion plans, and will be used for 90-nm and next-generation DRAM devices.

With the addition of Celsior, Aviza is now an equipment supplier for both ALD and thermal processing applications at Inotera's Fab 2. Celsior is the process tool of record (PTOR) at Inotera for all current ALD applications. The series of orders for the latest-generation ALD system is a validation of Aviza's commitment to providing manufacturing-worthy solutions for customers, combined with leading worldwide service and support capabilities.

On September 7, 2006, Aviza announced that, in accordance with the criteria of Aviza's revenue recognition policy, the Company has obtained sufficient customer acceptances of its Celsior system such that the Celsior system converted from "new" to "proven" technology, and Aviza will record revenue in the current fiscal quarter attributable to sales of its Celsior system when Aviza ships the systems to its customers.
