"The Chinese semiconductor market is a key, strategic market for Aviza," said May Su, Vice President and General Manger, Thermal Business Unit of Aviza Technology, Inc. "Securing our first order with this new customer demonstrates Aviza's growing presence in the burgeoning Chinese market. It also validates Aviza's technology and process expertise for flash memory applications. We look forward to expanding our partnership with this customer and to supporting their evolving technology needs."

The worldwide flash market is expected to grow by approximately 16 percent in 2006 over that of 2005, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association's most recent forecast projection. Growth drivers for this market are primarily consumer and communication device related such as digital cameras, cell phones, USB flash drives and memory cards.

The AVP vertical batch thermal processing systems deliver production-proven performance, superior process results and optimized throughput -- providing the lowest cost of ownership (CoO) for diffusion, oxidation and LPCVD LPCVD Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition  applications. Features of the AVP system include Aviza's proprietary Advanced Temperature Control (ATC) for optimum uniformity, enhanced throughput by leveraging a dual boat/single tube design and in-situ cleaning as well as dual-wafer size capability combined with continuous batch mode operation.

Note to editors: Aviza will be exhibiting at this year's SEMICON SEMICON Semiconductors Equipment and Material International Conference  China exhibition, to be held from Tuesday, March 21, 2006 to Thursday, March 23, 2006.
